:: Requirements
The AAMHRS Consortium is currently seeking mentee and mentor applicants for the 2009-2010 cohort of the Grant-Mentoring Program. The requirements for mentor applicants are as follows:Mentor applicants must be experienced NIMH- or NIH-funded research scientists who are willing to share their conceptual, methodological, and grant-writing expertise in acquiring and maintaining funding.
We are working to create a network of experienced mentors who can contribute to future AAMHRS Consortium and NIMH initiatives and who are committed to high-quality research on mental health and underserved populations.
While efforts for recruiting mentees focus on African Americans, the program encourages any mental health research scientist with an interest in mentoring African American researchers and a successful NIMH or NIH funding history to apply to be a mentor.
Mentors are required to:
- attend the 3-day grant workshop
- work closely with mentees throughout the year.
