:: Requirements
The AAMHRS Consortium is currently seeking mentee and mentor applicants for the 2009-2010 cohort of the Grant-Mentoring Program. The requirements for mentor applicants are as follows:Mentee applicants must be African American and US citizens or permanent residents. Mentees are also required to have completed all requirements for the doctorate (e.g., Ph.D., DSW, M.D.) including the final dissertation defense (if appropriate) by the time of appointment to the program (April, 2009).
African American research scientists who have not received an independent NIMH or NIH grant (e.g., R01, R24), and who require additional skills in grant-writing or specific areas of research involving underserved populations, are eligible for this program.
Mentees must demonstrate a clear interest and commitment to mental health research in their applications.
Mentees are required to:
- attend a 3-day grant workshop
- work closely with their mentor in preparing a competitive grant application
- submit a grant application to NIMH within 18-months of acceptance to the program.

Mentee and mentor applications for the 2009-2010 Grant-Mentoring Program must be submitted via this website by March 15, 2009.Please follow the links below to access the applications.
